Accessibility

  • Do you have accessible seating?

    • We have accessible seating such as removable and transfer seats in all our venues. You can reserve them online, over the phone or at the box office. Please tell us what needs you have so we can make the right arrangements for you.
  • Can my family sit next to me in the accessibility section?

    • You can purchase up to 3 companion seats per accessible seat. Any additional companions will be seated as close as possible to your party.
  • I can’t hear the show. What services do you offer for the hearing impaired?
    • We have assistive listening devices available at every performance for free. These lightweight devices have a circular wheel to amplify the volume of the show. You can check them out on the Orchestra level lobby of both Segerstrom Hall and Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. We also offer induction loops to use with a t-coil enabled hearing aid. A driver’s license or credit card is required to check out a device and will be returned to you when you check it back in.
    • We also offer American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation and Open Captioning for select Saturday matinee Broadway performances. To request ASL Interpretation or Open Captioning for a different performance, please email us at access@SCFTA.org. Please allow advance notice of at least 2 weeks before the opening performance when requesting an interpreter and/or captioner. Requests are subject to the availability of a service provider and are provided at the discretion of the management. Click here to view and purchase tickets for Broadway ASL and Open Caption shows.
  • I can’t see the show. What services do you offer for the visually impaired?
    • We offer Audio Description for select Saturday matinee Broadway performances. Audio Description is a live, verbal description of actions, costumes, scenery, and other visual elements of a performance that is broadcast to patrons via an Assistive Listening Device. You will check out an Assistive Listening Device to have access to the narrative. See the question above for how to check out the headset. Please ask for the Audio Description channel. • We also offer free large print programs for Broadway and Dance shows. They are available at the podium near the entrance of the Plaza level lobby and at the podium on the Orchestra level lobby.
    • Binoculars are available to rent at the usher podium on the Orchestra level lobby of Segerstrom Hall. • Do you allow service dogs and/or companion animals? Do I need to bring proof that my dog is a service dog?
    • We allow service dogs in all our venues. No proof is needed but your service animal must be trained to address your physical, sensory, intellectual and/or mental disability.  Companion animals are not allowed.
  • My child has autism and can’t sit still for an entire show. Do you offer any programming for him?
    • Our sensory-friendly Family Series is specifically designed for people with sensory sensitivity. Our Family Series is geared towards children with the developmental ages of 4-8. The shows are usually an hour long with no intermission. Lights and sound may be adjusted for each production. Patrons are free to talk, move about the theater, or use handheld devices during the performance. Learn more about Sensory Friendly performances.

  • My caregiver can’t attend the show with me. Do you have someone who could help me navigate the theater?
    • Our ushers are trained to help patrons navigate the theater. You will recognize our ushers as those who are wearing a charcoal gray uniform shirt. Ask any usher and we will arrange someone to help you during your stay. The ushers, using the patron's or one of our wheelchairs, can assist patrons from the car in the box office traffic circle to the seating area. They will pick them up at the end of the show and take them back to their car in the traffic circle on Plaza level.
  • What discounts do you offer? Do you offer discounts for caregivers?

    • We offer senior and student rush for select performances. Seniors need to be 65 and over and students must be full time high school or college. Rush tickets are only available the day of the show at the box office. Tickets are usually $20 per ticket/1 ticket per valid ID but guidelines do vary. Call or check our website on the day of the show to see if rush tickets are available. Click here to view today's rush information.
    • We do not offer discounts for caregivers. Your caregiver will be allowed to take you to your seat before the performance and pick you up at the end.  Your caregiver may wait in a designated place in the lobby during the performance. They would not be able to see the performance but would be available should you need assistance. Alternately, you may purchase a lower priced ticket for you caregiver. They would sit in that location during the performance and could assist you before and after the performance and at intermission.
