Docent-led venue exploration
Segerstrom Center for the Arts invites you to join a complimentary docent-led tour! Whatever your area of interest, Segerstrom Center’s experienced, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic Docents are sure to entertain you with interesting tidbits and fascinating stories as they guide you through our venues. These interactive, walking tours are led in English, suitable for ages 7 and up, and visit both indoor and outdoor spaces, subject to venue availability.
Public tours do not include guided tours of our neighboring arts partners OCMA or South Coast Repertory. As an active performing arts center, Segerstrom Center appreciates your understanding with our changing calendar of events, performances, and rehearsals which impact the spaces available to visit on a tour.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
- Docent-led Tours are roughly 75-90 minutes in length, and cover multiple sites within Segerstrom Hall and the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall.
- Group size limited to 20 guests in total.
- Comfortable walking shoes are encouraged.
- All tours begin outside on the Argyros Plaza.
- All tours are subject to cancellation due to venue availability.
- There is no cost to take a Docent-led tour.
- Parking validation is not provided.

Interested in booking a private tour of Segerstrom Center for the Arts for your group? Complimentary private tours are scheduled by request on a first-come-first-served basis, for groups of up to 40 guests in total. All tours are subject to venue availability. How long are tours?
Outdoor tours are 45 – 60 minutes, tours of one performance hall are approximately 60 minutes, and a tour of both performance halls is approximately 90 minutes.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of guests?
Public tours welcome up to 20 guests (RSVP recommended). Private tours recommended can be arranged for 1 - 60 guests, depending on venue availability.

Are tours suitable for children?
Yes! We recommend tours for students ages 7 and up. Our tours also make great field trips for students’ age 7 and up. One adult chaperone is required for every 15 students. We can accommodate most group sizes with advanced notice. If your party is over 15 guests, visitors will be split into smaller groups that will tour simultaneously.

Is the tour accessible to visitors with disabilities?
Absolutely. Tours of Segerstrom Center for the Arts are fully accessible. Wheelchairs are not provided. We appreciate advanced notice if any guests in your party need accommodations.

Why aren't tours available later in the day on performance evenings?
When scheduling tours, we are balancing the needs of our public tour program with the operations of Segerstrom Hall and the Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall. Tours later in the day are typically not scheduled to allow the dozens of ushers, operations, and housekeeping staffs to thoroughly secure, clean and prepare the building before the evening events and performances. Morning tour requests are most commonly possible to accommodate.

Where do I park?
There are several parking garages adjacent to the Segerstrom Center for the Arts: Center Tower Parking Structure, adjacent to Segerstrom Hall on Sunflower Avenue between Avenue of the Arts and Park Center Drive. The Plaza Tower Parking Structure across from the Westin Hotel on Anton Boulevard between Avenue of the Arts and Park Center Drive. Segerstrom Center for the Arts neither owns nor operates any of these parking garages and rates are subject to change.

Why is the tour schedule always subject to change, even when tours are booked in advance?
Scheduling tours in a working performing arts and concert venue is a complex process. The priority of the Hall is to performances and they can be added to the scheduled at any time. Also, as a touring venue we continually have new shows arriving with their rehearsal schedules. The scheduling of tours is sensitive to the timing needs of front of house staff, operations, performers and many more that need the space to prepare for that evening’s performance or event.

Do you allow photography during the tours?
Yes, we love it when patrons take pictures of our beautiful spaces. Photography is permitted with the use of hand-held still and video cameras only, no tripods. When a show is in the house, there may be no photography allowed in certain locations due to copyright laws and your Docent will advise you. We’d love to see your photos!

About our performance halls:
The Segerstrom Hall opened in 1986 as one of the nation’s most innovative and technically advanced homes for the performing arts. This space hosts international ballet and dance companies as well as national tours of top Broadway shows.
The Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall opened in 2006 and hosts magnificent concerts ranging from celebrity soloists to world-renowned orchestras. It is also the artistic home to the Pacific Symphony, the Philharmonic Society of Orange County, and the Pacific Chorale.
