Part-Time Customer Service Specialist


POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Customer Service Specialists support the belief in the power of performing arts to transform lives and that the shared experience and exploration of the arts will help create a more culturally connected and vital community. The Customer Service Specialists report to the Ticket Services management team. This opportunity is a part-time, 16-29 hours per week position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES*:

  • Provide a high level of customer service in a fast-paced work environment
  • Retain and utilize informational resources to provide patrons with up-to-date information about the Center
  • Answer a variety of questions and process daily sales
  • Flexible with changing information
  • Answer incoming calls and online chats
  • Assist with season ticket sales and general clerical duties
  • Processes credit card and cash transactions
  • Greet patrons in front of the box office at showtime
  • Assist patrons at the guest service desk
  • Assist with audience engagement activities and special events
  • Conduct surveys with patrons
  • Work merchandise sales
  • Ask for round-up donations
  • Assist in new staff training
  • Perform Reception coverage as needed.

*-  Other duties may be assigned in support of departmental goals.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

  • 6-12 months of customer service experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) preferred
  • Experience with Slack, Tessitura, Genesys desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong sense of urgency and commitment to customer service
  • Ability to regularly problem-solve with tact and diplomacy
  • A dedicated team player with strong attention to detail
  • Consistent and punctual attendance required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS*: 

  • Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, use telephone, and write by hand 
  • Possess manual dexterity to finger, handle, and feel
  • Regularly walk in the performance of duties
  • Frequently stand, reach, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • Ability to speak clearly with sufficient hearing to communicate effectively
  • Periodically lift and move up to 30 pounds.

Hourly range: 
$17.00 per hour
