Alfredo Rodriguez Trio

Venue: Samueli Theater Tickets start at $64.00

Alfredo Rodriguez has gained international acclaim with his recent release, Tocororo, produced by Quincy Jones. Cuban-born pianist has enjoyed a precipitous rise since relocating to L.A. from Cuba in 2009. Like earlier Cuban pianists who have found a home in jazz, Rodriguez is steeped in European traditions and Cuban folklore, weaving echoes of classical and pop into his Latin beat.

“Alfredo is without a doubt one of the best young pianists I’ve ever seen and with the enormous skills that he already possesses, his potential is limitless” - Quincy Jones

These performances by the Alfredo Rodriguez Trio are part of Pacific Standard Time: LA/LA, a far-reaching and ambitious exploration of Latin American and Latino art in dialogue with Los Angeles, taking place from September 2017 through January 2018 at more than 70 cultural institutions across Southern California. Pacific Standard Time is an initiative of the Getty.
