Lara Bruce
Residency
Overview
Originally from Hawaii, Lara Bruce studied art history in Massachusetts and after working for years in the art auction industry, she transformed her love of art into a passion for teaching. Lara has also worked for Art to Grow On, Inc. for the past 10 years and loves bringing art and art history to children of all ages.
Re-Thinking the Process
Students will explore perspective by working with two- and three-dimensional forms and characterizing what they observe about linear, figurative, and architectural art. Combining math and perspective with a variety of art mediums, students will explore artists such as Bridget Riley, Alberto Giacometti, and Buckminster Fuller. Lessons may also include collaboration as students engage in communication and problem solving with their classmates.
