Daniel Pink Will Transform the Way
Orange County Thinks About Creativity
Daniel H. Pink has authored several provocative, best-selling books about the changing world of work. These include A Whole New Mind: Why Right—Brainers Will Rule the Future and Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us. Drawing on four decades of scientific research about human motivation, Pink exposes the mismatch between what science knows and what business does—and how that affects every aspect of life. He demonstrates that, while carrots and sticks worked successfully in the twentieth century, that's precisely the wrong way to motivate people for today's challenges. What Pink tells us is that the secret to high performance and satisfaction—at work, at school, and at home—is the deeply human need to direct our own lives, to learn and create new things, and to do better by ourselves and our world.
On March 15, Pink will deliver a fascinating, enlightening and potentially life-changing presentation titled The Creative Edge: Innovation, Education and the Changing World of Work. The event begins at 9 a.m. with a dynamic presentation by Pink followed by optional action-focused break-sessions. The sessions include Community-Based Arts Education Advocacy in Orange County, Put the STEAM into Stem and Seeking Solutions to Closing the Arts Gap.
This opportunity will be of vital interest and benefit to business and community leaders and educators. Tickets are just $35 and available on-line at OCPAC.org, by calling the Center at 714.556.2787 or at the Center Box Office located at 600 Town Center Dr. in Costa Mesa.
