Beethoven: The Finale
5/15/2014 - 5/15/2014
The finale to the Society’s multi-season Beethoven: The Late Great celebration showcases the U.S. West Coast premiere of a new commissioned work by Mark-Anthony Turnage, entitled Frieze. Turnage’s Frieze takes its name from the Beethoven Frieze, a painting by Gustav Klimt inspired by Beethoven’s iconic Ninth Symphony, which will also be performed as part of the evening’s program.

Dean Corey’s final concert as President and Artistic Director of the Philharmonic Society is a collective celebration of Orange County, bringing in the Orange County Youth Symphony Orchestra, piano soloist Marc Yu, and choirs from UC Irvine and Chapman University.
