About the Artist

Taking its name from novelist Jack London’s 1904 seafaring adventure, Sea Wolf is a pseudonym for Alex Brown Church’s full-bodied musical entity. Church burst onto the music scene with the full-length debut album, Leaves in the River, of which Interview Magazine observed: “His music is both erudite and unvarnished, a blend of swirling melodies, literary balladry and damaged art-rock composition.” Church’s singular vision led to the creation of numerous recordings including his eloquent sophomore album White Water, White Bloom and his newly released full-length effort, Old World Romance.

“Hauntingly beautiful” – Alternative Press

“the subdued and personal nature of Church’s songs here allow for an intimate connection” –

“There are a number of songs you will find yourself unconsciously humming hours or days later” – Blackbook Magazine

About the Show

Featured on KROQ’s Locals Only Showcase and named one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need to Know,” the LA based-indie rockers have been busy touring with Nada Surf and Silversun Pickups while their music has been featured in many popular movies and TV shows. But with the release of their third album, Old World Romance, the spotlights is all theirs!

Old World Romance is the highly anticipated follow up to Sea Wolf’s successful sophomore LP, White Water, White Bloom. Led by founder Alex Brown Church, Sea Wolf delves into new territory with Old World Romance; the songs are stripped back and lean, simply melodic and brightly propulsive, leaning away from White Water’s indie-folk epics. Joining Church on Old World Romance with gorgeous full-band arrangements are Lisa Fendelander (keyboards), Joey Ficken (drums), Ted Liscinski (bass) and multi-instrumentalist Zac Rae.
