Building on the tremendous success of this year, the 2012–2013 Season will feature two distinct series from which to choose.

The Discovery Series, designed for children ages 4 to 8, features five shows. The Explorer Series features two shows and is geared for children age 7 and older. All shows will feature our popular pre-show interactive activities in the lobby of Samueli Theater.

October 20-21, 2012

Parallel Exit creates moments of simple magic for audiences of all ages. They blend theatre, dance, and music into works of physical theatre that transcend age, language, and cultural barriers. Exit, Stage Left brings the joy, laughter and technical wizardry of Vaudeville to life once again. This break-neck show will have audiences of all ages rolling in the aisles.

This trio of wacky elementary school teachers-turned-rockers knows how to get kids and families dancing with high-energy and ludicrously fun songs inspired by their teaching days. Recess Monkey brings an acclaimed and outlandish set of clever pop and rock and roll tunes from Seattle. Their boppy set engages kids with irresistible sing-alongs, amusing jokes and distinctive dance-steps.


500 Clown Trapped
December 1-2, 2012

Experience 500 Clown's signature mix of high physicality, raw emotion, and powerful storytelling with content accessible to an all-ages audience. In 500 Clown Trapped, three clown-musicians are unexpectedly ensnared. Their response to this surprising turn of events ineffectively spirals out of control. Slapstick mishaps, vaudevillian turns, and untiring resilience are put into play as the clowns try to escape the trap they've made.

Featuring evocative music, stunning visual effects and innovative puppetry, the triple-bill highlights three of Eric Carle's most beloved tales.

The acclaimed Marionetas de las Esquina from Mexico City brings to life a delightful and charming new twist to the classic fairytale of Sleeping Beauty. Written by award-winning playwright Amaranta Leyva, this tale brings the famous princess from the past into the present as she searches for her prince… and herself.

Box Office Hours
The Center Box Office, located at 600 Town Center Drive in Costa Mesa, is open daily from 10:00 6:00 p.m. On days with evening performances, the box office remains open half-an-hour after the show begins. Holiday hours may vary.
