Segerstrom Center for the Arts continued its 25th Anniversary Year with a star-studded Candlelight Concert. Nearly 450 people attended this 38th annual gala that featured concerts by the Tony and Emmy Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, followed by music and dancing with Rock and Roll legend Frankie Valli. The event was chaired by Dee Higby and co-chaired by Board member Betty Huang and Elizabeth Segerstrom.  Cartier was the presenting sponsor. Candlelight Concert netted nearly $1.3 million dollars to support Segerstrom Center's artistic and education programs.

Throughout the evening, special moments celebrated the Center's past, its commitment and service to the community, its contributions to the arts and to looking forward to an exciting future. Past Center Board chairmen and presidents were introduced and applauded, Center community partnerships were represented by performances featuring the Sonora Elementary School Eagles Advanced Band and the Brethren Lutheran School Jazz Combo, and video monitors showed historic photos of donors, special events and past performances and artists that allowed guests to relive favorite moments from the Center's earliest days through its current season. And as an added surprise, Flash Mob of America appeared from seemingly out of nowhere to kick the proceedings up a notch with the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah.

The four-course menu was created by chefs Joachim Splichal, Ross Pangilinan and Gregg Wiele of the Patina Group. And for those with an especially sweet tooth, Chocolates á la carte created a truffle lounge. The bar was flanked by chocolate walls embossed with the Center's logo. Truffles were available along with a special adult chocolate milk cocktail.

Indeed – 'Oh what a night!"
