The Sound of Music Chapter of The Guilds of Segerstrom Center for the Arts presented its first Notable Kitchen Tour and Chef Showcase on October 6 and raised nearly $20,000 that will support the Center’s education and community programs. More than 250 people enjoyed the self-guided tour of five of the most spectacular kitchens in homes from Newport Coast to Crystal Cove to Shady Canyon while sampling signature menu items prepared by five of the leading chefs in Orange County. This inaugural event was chaired by Patty Lance with Sound of Music Chapter Co-Chairs Danni Good and Diane Monroe, Chapter Secretary Georgeana Ireland and Chapter Treasurer Judy Cristiano.

While guests enjoyed touring the homes, the classic gathering spot was, of course, the kitchens, created by leading designers and which were the stages for the chefs and food tastings. The celebrity chefs included Tim Kast of Seasons 52 South Coast Plaza, Paul Avila of Morton’s The Steakhouse South Coast Plaza Village, Antonio Cagnolo from Antonello Ristorante South Coast Plaza, Joffrey Lopez of Williams-Sonoma and Jason Petri representing Pinot Provence at the Westin South Coast Plaza. Each item was paired with distinguished wines. Tasty sweet treats were provided by Casey’s Cupcakes – Casey Reinhardt’s culinary triumph - and The Melting Pot.

The homes also featured spectacular table décor created by Barclay Butera, Bloomingdales, Pottery Barn, Villeroy & Boch and Williams-Sonoma. Seasonal floral arrangements were designed by Creations by Enzo, In Bloom, Paul’s Flowers, Petal to the Meadow Floral Studio and Bellagio Florist Etc. to compliment each home.
Guests also had the opportunity to wend their way to each home via shuttle service provided by Sterling BMW. For shopping, Sound of Music Chapter opened a boutique featuring local artisans’ home décor and personal gift items. And each home was filled with classical music performed by many of the most talented young artists studying at Orange County High School of the Arts.
The Notable Kitchen Tour and Chef Showcase was sponsored by Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Orange County and Desert Region.
