OPENED:

Architect: Cesar Pelli – Pelli, Clarke, Pelli and Assoc.
In July, 2007, the Center dedicated the Lawrence and Kristina Dodge
Education Center as the new, permanent home for the Center's education
and community programs. For the first time in the Center's 22-year
history, the Center finally had a dedicated venue and staff support
to provide master classes, professional development for teachers, young
artist development, lectures and demonstrations, student performances
and programs, as well as administrative offices to coordinate programs
both on-site and in the community. The Dodge Education Center includes
the Studio Performance Space, Boeing Education Lab, Education Department
offices, and various rehearsal and utility spaces.
PROGRAMMING:
The Dodge Education Center has been utilized for a variety of programming
options. Every year at-risk youth who attend Summer
at the Center spend two weeks rehearsing at the Dodge
Education Center. Other programs such as Masters
at the Center ,
Arts Teach Showcase,
and educator development programs come together in the Dodge Education
Center. The Dodge Education Center spaces are also used for Behind
the Scenes and artist meet-and-greet events, rehearsals, informal
concerts, recitals, seminars, corporate events, banquets, receptions,
meetings, and conferences.
EDUCATION OFFICES:
This new suite of offices provides a home and technical support for the education
staff to coordinate programming for more than 350,000 students and educators
annually. The education department is in a highly visible location within the
Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall lobby at Segerstrom Center for the
Arts.
